Yarn - from A to Z

We transform the raw material purchased from selected suppliers during a series of complex operations, grouped in three main stages of production:

I. Dyeing of tops

Most of the yarns produced are coloured, and their dyeing is done in tops (fibre tape made in industrial processes prior to spinning). This ensures the production of large batches (up to 10 tons).

The colour matching involves the dyeing of several components and their subsequent mixing in certain proportions, so that the colour obtained is the one requested by the customer. In the case of melange colours, it may be necessary to dye even 10 components.

This stage contains the following operations:

dyeing and application of various treatments (if necessary) in under pressure dyeing machines, with capacities between 20 and 350 kg;

centrifugation and drying in high frequency electric field;

successive mixing and drawing, to parallelize the fibres and ensure colour uniformity.

II. Combing and preparation of spinning

The release of the batches is carried out on the basis of an unlimited number of samples made from the dyed components, which ensures the obtaining of the correct colour during the industrial process and the compliance with the quality parameters from our internal standards.

Components of a batch are mixed in the correct proportions to obtain the colour and the fibrous composition.

The combing operation ensures the elimination of short fibres and defects in the semi-finished product (neps and agglomerations of fibres).

The fibres sliver is thinned by successive mixing and drawing and is transformed into roving, the semi-finished product from which the spinning operation is performed.

Combing

III. Spinning and finishing

The roving is transformed into yarn by spinning on ring spinning machines. The simple raw yarn thus obtained is steamed, to stabilize the torsion and facilitate the winding operation.

The winding ensures the passing of the product on large formats; during this operation the yarns are also electronically purified and waxed. For twisted yarns, the doubling /tripling or direct twisting step follows, as the case may be.

The final products are checked, labelled and packed.
